Get the Facts About Measure CC!
The opponents of Measure CC deliberately mislead voters with incorrect and untrue statements. This is not a multi-million dollar tax or a bond measure to rebuild school facilities.
Measure CC is a modest proposal to provide temporary funding for our schools to offset a portion of money lost due to state cutbacks.
Here are the truthful facts:
- Measure CC will cost property owners $10 per month. This cost is tax deductible.
- The League of Women Voters, American Association of Retired Persons, Pasadena Educational Foundation, NAACP, United Teachers of Pasadena, the Pasadena and Sierra Madre city councils, Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Churches, American Association of University Women, Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors, Altadena Chamber of Commerce, Republicans, Democrats and Independents across our community
all support Measure CC. - Not one credible organization or leader in our community opposes Measure CC.
- Without Measure CC educational programs will be cut, classes will be reduced, class sizes will increase, teachers will be laid off, school libraries will close, counselor positions will be eliminated.
- Every penny raised by Measure CC will stay in our community to benefit local children.
- No money will be spent on buildings or administrators.
Our school district is not unique. Surrounding school districts have much higher parcel taxes to supplement minimal state funding.
While we all wish California would provide more funding for our schools, unfortunately it doesn’t.
The number one factor in maintaining property values is the quality of local public schools. Measure CC is a smart investment in our own community.
