Two of my three sons attend Sierra Madre School. I am a wife, mother, and an Altadena resident — my husband and I bought our home in 2001. I worked as an elementary educator in the Los Angeles Unified School District for fourteen years. I’m an LA native (I attended LAUSD schools, K-12) and both my husband and I are graduates of the University of California, Los Angeles.

I support Measure CC because my husband and I have chosen to raise our children in Altadena and we have opted to partner with PUSD in the quest to educate our children. Additionally, I believe that it is imperative that as a PUSD resident in some way, I must support our schools. Over the past nine years, I have witnessed a positive shift and definite progress being made in PUSD schools. As a vested stakeholder in the PUSD community, I want to see this trend to continue.

Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre are three resource-rich areas that form a unique and special school district. Our public schools should be nothing less than first-rate. Creating first-rate schools is going to take all of us stepping up. Supporting Measure CC is one way in which we can work towards achieving this. Our kids and our schools need our support. Strong, well-supported public schools are assets to our community.
